OPA General Manager Dave Ferguson presents proposals for possible widening and improvements to Cathell Road. Ferguson essentially suggested a two-foot widening of the road on each shoulder.
While there are some problems at the Cathell Road-Ocean Parkway intersection, there is not much damage along the existing road edges. In fact, most of the road deterioration seems to be in the central areas of the two lanes, a result of poor construction or inadequate design.
The board delayed any action with a view to perhaps a complete redesign of what what some people in Ocean Pines believe was a poorly conceived design from the beginning.
