OPA Board Mark Venit is upset about what he calls the "catering hall" policy implemented by staff at the Yacht Club. This video segment is from the 1/10/2006 board budget discussion. Video does not cover rebuttal from Dave Ferguson and Dan Stachurski, due to need to cover another meeting. Stachurski said the June 2005 board motion to limit catering at Yacht Club stated the policy was only for 2005. The video of that meeting does not fully support Stachurski's assertion. The issue is whether or not the board set a policy to not allow catering on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer season. Apparently the Yacht Club staff has booked all Saturday nights for catered events already for the entire month of June in the upstairs dining area. The board took no action and apparently staff has a green light to book catered events in the Yacht Club upstairs dining room at any time.
