Video: Setting the Table
Start
The OPA Board of Directors meeting of 1/18/2006 began with a 4/3 split vote on adding items to the agenda, setting the stage for later votes on controversial board issues related to the golf budget and operation of the Yacht Club.

Mark Venit proposed adding items to new business related to the Yacht Club and marketing, and Heather Cook desired to add an item to the agenda to revisit last week's board vote on the golf budget in order to offer an alternate, simpler model for the fee structure.

It became clear Dan Stachurski was adamantly opposed to adding these items under new business, bringing up procedural issues. In the end, however, the motion to add the items passed with the majority vote coming from George Coleburn, Heather Cook, Janet Kelley, and Mark Venit. On the losing side were Glenn Duffy, Dan Stachurski, and Reid Sterrett.

The same majority were to later prevail when the added agenda items were brought up.

If nothing else, today's meeting showed there is no lock-step board majority this year.
