Video: Impact Fees
Start
Worcester County Commissioners vote to proceed with a public hearing that could well result in later approval by the commissioners of impact fees on new residential development as a way of providing additional funds for public schools.  All commissioners, with the exception of Bud Church, agreed to place their names on the bill. The public hearing on the bill will be February 21, 2006 during the commissioners meeting at Snow Hill. Regular meeting begins at 10 AM. The bill, if passed, is enabling legislation. If passed, the commissioners would have the option of requiring or not requiring impact fees. Fee for a new single-family home could be as high as $6000.
