Video: Royal Plus Gets Property
Start
Worcester County Commissioners transfer 8 acres of land and approx. 100,000 square-foot building in Snow Hill to Royal Plus. Vote is unanimous on motion by Bob Cowger. Final ownership of property is contingent on Royal Plus bringing in approximately 40 new jobs to the county over a period of years. Building had been unused for years.

Building was site of a former printing operation after the county purchased the property in 1995 with a grant and leased it to Aluglass Company for manufacturing purposes. The project achieved limited success and the operation shut down.

With Royal Plus taking ownership of the property in accordance with the terms of the 1/2/2007 agreement, it is estimated 56 jobs will be retained, 40 new jobs created, and an economic impact of about $5 million per year at full capacity. The transfer was supported by the Town of Snow Hill.

Video includes scenes of County Commissioners touring the facility, a brief interview with Commissioner Shockley, and the complete commissioners discussion and decision on the issue.
