Cetola organizes re-election campaign
By Bob Lassahn

Incumbent Worcester County District 6 Commissioner Tom Cetola gathered with supporters at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club on Sunday afternoon to begin the process of organizing his re-election bid. The group of approximately 20 people represents the core of his support group and will be assisting with the logistics of campaign publicity, signs, working the polling places and other elements necessary to running his campaign. Notable among those in attendance was Berlin Mayor Tom Cardinale, who has endorsed Mr. Cetola’s re-election.

Mr. Cetola, a Republican, overcame two fellow Republicans, Linda Busick and Harry B. Howe III in the 2002 Primary Election where he captured about 49 percent of the votes cast for the office. In the 2002 General Election he faced off against Democratic candidate Jackie Carey and Independent James Tony Dibuo, securing his seat as a county commissioner with about 46 percent of the votes cast for the office.

Democrat Arlene Page has announced her candidacy for the District 6 seat in the upcoming election, but additional challengers have yet to surface. The filing deadline for candidates is July 3rd.

Among the announcements made during the meeting was notice of Mr. Cetola’s website www.TomCetola.com where he has posted his biography and, accomplishments, as well as contact information. Mr. Cetola’s wife, Mary is serving as his campaign manager.
