Description: Ray Unger Royal Oaks Drive, Ocean Pines Originally from Baltimore, I am 64 years old and have been married to my wife JoAnn for 39 years. I have two sons and four grandsons. I have a great deal of respect for people who take time to become involved in their community as a volunteer for a club, on a committee, or on a board. My background includes law enforcement and business. My experiences in community service include: president of the Zoning and Appeals Board, Manchester, MD When my wife and I moved to Ocean Pines nearly eight years ago, I wanted to have an active role in the community. I joined the Ocean Pines Area Chamber of Commerce, was elected to the Board of Directors, served as president and served as a past president. I continue to be an active member of the Chamber. I’ve served as a member of the Business Advisory Board of the Worcester County Board of Education. Currently, I am a member of the Ocean City Power Squadron, the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Police and a Maryland licensed private investigator. Our community has much to be proud of. We have one of the best volunteer Fire Departments on the East Coast; our Ocean Pines Police Department deserves certification and the benefits it can bring to all of us. We are fortunate to have the OPA Administration, and Parks and Recreation staff, as well as dedicated employees who keep Ocean Pines running smoothly making it a beautiful place to live.
