Bull! It was voted down because it cost more than the membership was willing to pay. Nothing more, nothing less. Marty I have spoken to quite a few people who voted "YES" on the first ballot last summer and "NO" on the second. That is what we did also. When we realized that the BoD was actually going to spend one million dollars on the pool cover in addition to the Community Center expenses....my poor frugal heart nearly stopped! We voted NO! I didn't like much about the proposed CC anyway, but thought we needed something. The whole thing was a big ole' convoluted mess, in my opinion. The way it was handled stuck in a lot of people's throats. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jack: Why do I feel like this is a waste of my time? "The first referendum for a CC passed" Wrong! The first and second failed and by a lot. The third promised a $6 million dollar center for less than $4 million and was FREE because the BOD promised to sell $50,000 lots for $150,000. "was voted down simply as a rebuff to the then Board of Directors who had handled the CC issue so poorly" Bull! It was voted down because it cost more than the membership was willing to pay. Nothing more, nothing less. Marty |
