While the altercation may prove interesting to some, it does not particularly interest me, other than from a news (it happened) standpoint. If anyone directly involved wants to put names on people, they can do so. I choose to report from my sources what I have reported. As for the free food for the Golf Governor's social event, that is an interesting issue. Why should any group get free food at the Yacht Club? Who decides who receives free food? Is there any policy or limitation? And as you suggest, one must ask how much of our average $150,000 loss at the Yacht Club is due to providing free food and/or drinks to individuals or groups. I was told by a knowledgeable source that the New Year's celebration (I think that was the affair, but the specific affair of of no consequence) was reported as sold out and potential paying customers were told they could not obtain reservations, but 20% or so of those attending were "comps." |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If you know the Board Members, can you not share complete information with forum members? Why make us wait until Tom Stauss lets us know? My next question. Why the hey is a Golf Governor getting free food at the Yacht Club. Not that we are not losing enough money on both, but who else gets freebies? Does management at the Yacht Club get free golf? Maybe we are stumbling on something else today. |
