A member of the management team was informed by Mr. Olson that I posted on the forum that members were given free tickets to the New Years Eve Celebration at the Yacht Club, approximately 30% to be exact with the accusation. I was also told that “this was not a fight I was going to win and by posting on the forum I only make light of the fact that I am just a disgruntled ex-employee.” I was also told that I need to stop posting on the forum, stop talking to Joe Reynolds and stay out of all OP Amenities until this all dies down. It appears to me that OPA administration is out of control. You, to my knowledge, have never posted anything on this forum about the Yacht Club. However, unknown to you or to the individual who called you today, there were others who actually overheard the telephone conversation you disclose. You did not mention Pudge Ruppert as the individual who called you. However, for those who might be skeptical of your comments (and something you did not know until now), this afternoon a woman called me, a lady who I believe is of impecable integrity and honesty. She said she had been at the Country Club today playing cards. While there, she overheard a telephone conversation. She said Pudge Ruppert was across the room at a table with a "young lady." Based on other information I believe this was the new public relations hire. The woman who called me said she heard Mr. Ruppert shouting into his cell phone, "... and don't talk to Joe Reynolds any more. My job is on the line." The audacity to call you and make such demands is bad enough, but to possibly do so in the presence of a brand new public relations person (not to mention people playing cards at the County Club), is absolutely beyond belief. If there is no truth to the notion that there were a large number of comp tickets given out at the New Years celebration, as Tom Olson has officially and formally stated today (ONE comp according to Olson), why would anyone be so upset?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: As many of you know, I have been silent for the past few months and have only began posting on the forum in the past week. I have read the comments made regarding several issues and finally decided that I was no longer going to ignore the problems that OP residents face because of my former employment experience/loyalty to the administration. I struggled with the decision to post initially and did so with a heavy heart; today that weight has been permanently lifted. I received a phone call this morning that only confirmed my opinion and position on Mr. Olson and OPA Management. After my initial shock of the false accusations against me of posting ANYTHING regarding the Yacht Club on the forum, I became angry and offended when it registered that I was to “stay away” from the community that I live in with my family and have done so for the past 8 years. A community that I have been actively involved with, volunteered in, attended events, and participated in many youth programs with my own children. I had verbally praised as one of the greatest communities to raise a family and took pride of my residency as a “piner.” Now I get a threat of sort on my personal phone to stay away? The statement may be fact, but it was a fact not posted by and not having a thing to do with this former employee. My dismissal from OPA had nothing to do with wrong doing but with one man’s opinion of my ability to achieve his goal of changing his community’s image inside of six months. My posts on the forum have never been malicious, only opinion and at times factual to my experience on the other side of the fence. I am above all an OP resident now and have all right to post my opinion, speak to whomever I wish and visit any amenity that I pay service for. When dismissed, I requested an exit interview with the BOD to shed some light on the events that took place and my experience as an OPA employee. The request was made with no intention of regaining my position, only to inform the board on the issues that were faced while at OPA. I presented them with the facts and left the decision to address or reply to me after my interview with the board. I said what I felt I needed to and simply let go of the situation to move forward and live my life. I have continued to participate in community programs of choice with a smile on my face and offer little or no comment when asked about my previous position with the OPA. I have never offered false information to any member of the press or residents at large. These accusations and requests are without provocation and are taken at the highest level of insult that I have ever encountered. It is my responsibility to share what I endured today and stand up to what is blatantly wrong inside OPA. I will not be run over, silenced or dismissed as a disgruntled employee. Live and learn, the warning light should have come on when the man pulling the strings behind OPA’s magic curtain informed of his reluctance as “good mother’s sometimes make bad employees.” |
