Traditionally when VFD build the fire stations with large "meeting rooms" it usually includes having the availability to rent them out for various events.  I'd suspect OPVFD will do the same thing.

That is probably a good idea but not a good assumption that the OPVFD will follow that tradition.  The Southside fire station currently has meeting rooms.  To my knowledge they have never been rented out. However, I believe the OPVFD have permitted some Ocean Pines Organizations to meet there on occasion.  The Southside fire station is also a polling place.
