I do not have a homestead exemption , we appealed and were given reductions that reflected reality. I know that we we bought in 2002 taxes did zoom up but reflect the reality of the market now. Maryland taxes are still too high but that is why we stay residents of Delaware,can't beat the tax free shopping on everything
Let's see. You are residents of Delaware, have a home in Ocean Pines, and are presently in Florida. Easy to see why you perhaps don't care about a few hundred here or there. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If your tax bill for Ocean Pines increased more then 7% in the last five years you might want to call the County Treasurer and find out who discovered the oil on your property. Marty, 2007 tax bill was increased by 10.6%, 2008 tax bill was increased by 8.8% . I do not have a homestead exemption , we appealed and were given reductions that reflected reality.
