I have taken the time to add up the cost of our amenities from the 2011 audited statement. The negative cost of operations is -$114,376.00 not including the Community Hall. However, one must also add to this number the applicable depreciation for the amenities which must be funded by the memberships assessment dollar and the total cost in 2011 was $1,005,137.00 not including the Community Hall which I would guess could add another $200,000.00 +/-. That is over $140.00 per member. Pretty soon we could be talking real money. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: When grouped together and divided out by 365 days it is not much. I do not have the time to pull out the statements because I have to catch a flight. My guess is it is around a $100,000.00 in negative operating cost not including the Community Hall Marty: Thanks for answering the question I posed to Joe on the net losses from the ammenities after the profits from the other ammenities were considered. At roughly a 100 grand , it cost each lot owner $11.84 per year after grouping them all together. I agree with you that we should make a profit on all our ammenities and if that includes shutting the YC down in the winter, or anything else that makes sense to the BOD and GM to try to stem the losses. If the YC, pools, and golf course can make profits that would ease up the assessments no doubt. But until then, my point is that it is not that bleak of a picture. Yes, if I had stock investments in those operations the prudent thing would be to sell but the better idea it to stop the bleeding so it does not affect my property values.
