As far as having anyone dig in their pocket , I take care of my own...
Bill, Then in that case, you would be comfortable paying the actual costs to play golf at Ocean Pines... if the other 8,400 or so of us who do not need our own course refuse to "dig into their pockets" to pay for a golf course for those few who do (280?)...what would it cost you to play a round of golf? Just divide the golf course operational budget + the millions for recent and projected improvements by 280...carry the million or two dollars and?????? You see "we have to dig into our pockets" to support your need to play golf whether we agree or not. Steve |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If you had a choice of loosing 200K or making 100K which would you take? That is the issue with the YC. Close it in the winter and have a 100K profit and no OP owners need to dig in their pocket so you can have a drink after you play golf this summer. Your in different attitude toward operational losses sounds a bit selfish to me. Randy: I would not be adverse to closing in the winter and certainly would like making 100k , but the GM is responsible for the operations and receives his marching orders from the BOD. As far as having anyone dig in their pocket , I take care of my own bills for the golf, the yacht club the marine fuel for boat and jet skis , and the beach club parking pass which I also pay for. All of those items contribute to the bottom line for the total enjoyment of everyone that lives there so people can go to the free concerts, use the parks and communiity center etc. But I knew that when I read the rules of OP when we bought here . Hardly indifferent, we chose to spend money where we live and play. Bill |
