For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: At the time I was managing the average supermarket net margiin was about 3% to 5%. That doesn't allow much wiggle room. Volume can solve a lot of ills, but bad management can lose the profit. I had better be nice to you then. |
My first career was with Campbell Soup as a salesman and Supermarkets were my home for many years. If I had a good relationship with the manager they would allow me to put up aisle displays to sell extra product. I still tend to straighten out items on the shelves when food shopping.
