The next big test will be tonights high tide as it will be lunar tide. As to flooding, I guess it depends on your location. I have driven most of the Pines today and have seen a great number of houses with significant water around their home and in some cases splashing against their garages. I have also seen lapping many AC/hwat pump units. I did not see any flooding over by the pinehurst and briarcliff. It may have happen before but this is the first time I have seen significant water under the route ninty bridge and I would caution going through it in a small car. I also saw for the first time the parkway close to flooding near woodduck. By now it should be receeding as the tide is going out. If folks are interested you can drive the route ninety bridge into OC you just can't go right to downtown do to the flooding. I went to the end of 60th street and took some video and pictures. The waves were big, maybe 20 to 25 feet and the wind had some very strong gusts. By the way mail is being deleivered to the boxes and our crews are out and about doing the best they can to keep drains opens. My kudos to both the postal service and our workcrews. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thus far not a major event in the Pines. Relatively little rain and not any severe tidal flooding. If we get past Midnight, based on projections we should be ok. |
