Hopefully, as the wind direction changes with Sandy moving inland it will blow the water out.....or not.
The wind direction is what has been keeping the tides from being higher now. It is not a northeast wind, thankfully. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe will do my best. The water is beginning to recede from our canal but only slightly. Hopefully, as the wind direction changes with Sandy moving inland it will blow the water out.....or not. My mother purchased our lots with storms in mind and we are 20+' above sea level so I can only speak to wind in section 1. Considering the circumstances it has been "OK" so far. Some gusts certainly get ones attention. It is interesting to see the birds make a mad dash for my feeders during each lull. Then there is the squirrel that decided to wait out the storm in my chrysanthemum on the back porch. Guess his home did not fare too well. Now we need to get through tonight and hopefully the end of the tunnel will appear. |
