Thank you for your support, however, I am not aware of any vote of the board of directors of the Ocean Pines Association, Inc. to investigate me. This so called investigation was at the direction of one board member, the president, Mr. Terry. There is to my knowledge only one other board member and one employee who have joined in with groundless accusations in this make believe inquisition. I have asked our Association's attorney, Mr. Moore to provide me with the document that grants Mr. Terry the authority to conduct a so called investigation. I have not had a reply as of today. That may be because there is no such document. Thanks again. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, Below is an interrogative submitted to the Maryland HOA. I sent this before I posted on the Forum... awaiting a reply, if indeed one is forthcoming. ========================================================= cspanjunkie• a day ago I belong to an HOA on the peninsula. As with most organized groups of human beings, our HOA director-group ( I am not a participant) appears to be comprised of 'factions'. Apparently, an individual director said or did something that the majority faction has determined to be at variance with our HOA rules or regulations. To wit, it was agreed, by the majority of the board, to instruct the HOA's attorney to "investigate" the individual director. We (the membership) do not know the specifics of the investigation, nor do we know the details of the charges against the individual director. Question: Is there a provision in Maryland law that permits four citizens, that just happen to serve on an HOA Board, to instruct their contract attorney to conduct a personal investigation of a fellow citizen and fellow Board member? |
