I agree with you. These committee members are volunteers just trying to follow the Board Resolution outlining the committee responsibilities and are not aware of Maryland HOA Law. This just reinforces how critical it is to have a thorough orientation for existing committees and in the future a process to orient new committee members. This orientation is a BOD responsibility! For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Tom, none of the people on that committee are what I would call politically active with aspirations to run for the board. They are association members who donate their time in an effort to help their association. Their lack of knowledge regarding the Maryland law is not their fault. They simply believe their duty is to do exactly what the board tells them to do. Any fault here lies with board, primarily the OPA board president Tom Terry. |
