I was scolded for making public comments about what was discussed at an open meeting. The president of the BOD said that information had been learned in confidence and should not have been made public until the committe was ready. Randy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Committees rarely encounter the kind of questions I raised. Most of the time committees meet and no one attends but the committee people. Closed session has no practical meaning in such a scenario. The reality is that almost every committee meeting is closed session. 
I'd say no substantive education process is required, other than perhaps a single-sheet FAQ with maybe five questions/answers. No big deal. |
