| When did the mercury drop below zero in Ocean Pines? I've seen it 12 below up the mountains and that was on top of a 2450 foot mountain but mostly the lowest it gets is single digits. I would have thought the ocean would keep OP from dropping below 15 degrees or so. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I live here full time so I cannot do that. I just keeping the vents closed in winter... seems to work for me. Without cold air coming in and with the heat that goes into the crawl space, the pipes have done fine (knock on wood) Our home, built in 1972, has those spring loaded vents that close when the temperature drops below a certain point. The water lines survived that one especially cold winter when the temperature dropped to about 10 degrees. |
