For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You need to look closer at your water bill. You are only charged for what you use. Al, That is not exactly correct. We are charged for at least a minimum of 10,000 gallons per quarter. Many of us, myself included, do not use 10,000 gallons. In my opinion that is inequitable. I feel that I am penalized for being conservative. On the other hand I have an incentive to be conservative in my use of other utilities (gas, electric, telephone) I'm charged only for my actual use. I have no problem paying EDU's which I believe is the debt for constructing the infrastructure. But the my usage is directly related to maintenance, labor, water treatment etc. and the rate should be proportioned accordingly. Norm |
