Based on all I've heard at board meetings and B&F meetings, membership actually hurts the bottom line currently... at least insofar as the fees currently paid by members versus the rounds they tie up that would bring far more income. If one looks at the membership fee versus rounds a member plays, I've heard stated at board meeting that for some golf members it amounts to $10 or so per round played.
