Some may actually be paying $10 a round but many more -- especially those who don't live fill time in the Pines -- would pay more. Either way the up front membership fee adds to the bottom line. A successful golf course has both a healthy member base AND outside play. They are not mutually exclusive. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, but they should at least try to grow membership. Based on all I've heard at board meetings and B&F meetings, membership actually hurts the bottom line currently... at least insofar as the fees currently paid by members versus the rounds they tie up that would bring far more income. If one looks at the membership fee versus rounds a member plays, I've heard stated at board meeting that for some golf members it amounts to $10 or so per round played. |
