Replying to myself.... for Frank and Lisi.
Just talked to Eddie Wells ....who is the NICEST guy ever. He did NOT KNOW that the signs were missing, and is going to see that they are put back. I asked him to speak to the property owners about LEAVING THEM ALONE ...once they are placed. I am thinking that there are new owners in the "Ideal Spot" so perhaps they will be more co-operative than the former owners. Eddie Wells has always been a friend to kayakers. Whenever I asked him about replenishing the sand at the White Horse launch spot ....and at Boston Drive. he did it right away. If there are storms sometimes the sand gets washed away and you do need firm sand to get in and out of the water without sinking down in the muck. SO...if there is a problem ....just ask Eddie, and he will help. I guess, it wouldn't hurt for a couple of other folks to call...so that he knows that people really do care about this. He reminded me of all the flap with Mr. Ferguson and the kayak issue. I had NOT forgotten it at all. That is when I realized that talking to Ferguson was NOT the thing to do. I just dealt with Eddie Wells directly.....and everything was fine. Everytime Ferguson talked about kayaking....he would use the word ...DEVELOPMENT....which does NOT belong in the same sentence with the word KAYAK. That word fanned the flames....and I could see why people got upset at Wood Duck Park. All you need for kayaking is some firm sand ....and some water....and a path to get there! Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Assess double assessments on properties bordering park. Require them to purchase park at assessed value. Clearly mark 5 access locations with metal signs and poles welded together and anchored in concrete. Have CPI regularly inspect to make sure signs are not tampered with. Here is a good suggestion, have OP police patrol the park !!! You don't fully appreciate suggestions above good, make some better suggestions. Hi Frank, How about we start with a barrage of phone calls and see if anything happens? I will start now. Nancy |
