Joe, no boats on trailers...really? We are a beach community after all. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That statement sounds predjudiced. Any other king of people you feel shouldn't live in Ocean Pines. Careful, the Obama PC police will be knocking on your door. Watch out for helicopters. In the context of large contractor utility trailers parked in driveways, the above comment makes little sense. Prejudiced? No more so than I would be against school bus drivers who would park their buses in OP driveways every day; or no more prejudiced against food truck drivers who would park their food truck in their driveway every day; or no more prejudiced against 18-wheeler drivers who would park their rigs in their driveway; or you name it.. There is no prejudice again any kind of people, but absolute prejudice against parking large trucks, trailers, or other vehicles that bring down property values in a community with Declarations of Restrictions. Individuals with the need to park such trailers or vehicles on their property should definitely not consider buying or renting on Ocean Pines. Your view that utility trailers should be allowed, or a view that boats and boat trailers should not be allowed are both issues that are entirely at the discretion of the ARC/ECC.... and that is actually unfortunate to some extent. In the past some people with giant RVs were given permits based on some screening requirement. Fortunately, RVs are disappearing. From the DRs: No vehicle, with a load capacity of one (1) ton or greater, including but not limited to commercial trucks, trailer trucks, and buses shall be parked or stored overnight or longer on any lot in the Section or Subdivision in such a manner as to be visible to the occupants of other lots in the Section or Subdivision or the users of any street, waterway or golf course within the Section or Subdivision, unless the prior written approval of the Committee has been obtained." No temporary house, trailer, tent, garage or other outbuilding shall be placed or erected on any lot, provided, however, that the Committee may grant permission for any such temporary structure for storage of materials during construction. No such temporary structure as may be approved shall be used at any time as a dwelling place, nor shall any overnight camping be permitted on any lot”. |
