For well over a year, I've been saying, take the loss on the covered pool. Remove it and return the most popular pool to its roots. As you say, there could be alternate uses for the cover. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: One thing we have not heard definitively, to my knowledge, is what the police chief thinks OPA needs in terms of a police station and why. Well, why wouldn't he? If OPA offered to build me a new HQ with my own private office and parking space I'd go for it, and I'm not even a cop. I like to see the BOD come up with a 5 year capital improvement/replacement plan (if they haven't already). I'd demolish the CC/Tern grill and the community office building at White Horse park. Lease the office space. Downsize the CC/TG to a small footprint with a bar/grill/pro shop/lockers. Then I'd try to sell the pool cover (there is a sucker born every minute) and if no takers relocate it for an alternative use such as indoor tennis/pickle ball. Then I'd see if we could get some slots in the YC. The Bel Air AL Post #39 has been limping along barley breaking even for years. They have been granted permission to purchase/rent 5 machines. I am curious as to how that will work out. |
