I think a solarium in the Pines would be the cheapest alternative. I think the GM's solarium idea was in addition to not in replacement of the covered pool. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: For well over a year, I've been saying, take the loss on the covered pool. Remove it and return the most popular pool to its roots. As you say, there could be alternate uses for the cover. I'm pretty sure the GM addressed alternate uses a few years back. The one I recall was to move it to the community gardens and use as a solarium. I didn't make that up. Believe me. Ed, you are connected. Think you could find a buyer with a small gratuity for your efforts? Practically anything you can think of is for sale somewhere. Heck, you can buy a used ferris wheel if you are looking for one. Somebody, somewhere would love that pool cover. Maybe Reid Sterrett will buy it. It would make a great ice/hockey rink if it's big enough. Ocean City should consider putting it in Northside park. Hidden Harbor or Heron Harbor are swimming in money. Maybe they would be interested. |
