If memory serves me right you projected a cost of approx.. $12,000.
That is a fairly close estimate of the cost to mail some sort of a ballot to association members and the cost of returns. The important thing is to gather the inputs from the owners in order to identify our needs and wants. Thereafter the BOD has a clear mandate from their constituents and must (should) act on the wishes of the majority and not a vocal minority. I have mixed emotions. Not sure we would want to manage by polls. The input might be worth consideration, but I'm not sure I'd want to see the board act on every item deemed needed/wanted via a poll. By the way, even in board elections only a little over 50% typically vote so I'm not sure how much of a return would result. Even with all the warts, a representative governing system is better than a true democracy. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Indeed Joe, there are medical facilities here :)…the better ones are control by the Israelis. Ok, electronic does not work since OPA is in the dark ages but what about the paper ballots/survey. If memory serves me right you projected a cost of approx.. $12,000...not so much. The important thing is to gather the inputs from the owners in order to identify our needs and wants. Thereafter the BOD has a clear mandate from their constituents and must (should) act on the wishes of the majority and not a vocal minority. |
