Chaser is much smarter than King or Tobi or any other dog for that matter. Border Collies are bred to understand how sheep are herded and are SMART. Research is showing that dogs have intelligence similar to a 2 year old and can understand concepts even more than that other smart animal, Chimpanzees. If you don't mind a few commercials and are interested here is a link to the CNN story on Chaser and dog research as it relates to their brains and interaction with humans.
As far as Mack's seizures you probably know this but I pass it on whenever given the chance. King had short, mild seizures for a time and we could not figure out why. I saw a news clip on the news one day that discussed the problems with BPA in our plastics. [remember the plastic baby bottle issue?]. I realized that I was doing a dumb thing. To be neat I had purchased a stainless waste can with a black plastic liner to store Kings food neatly. It got me thinking and I decided to keep the food in the original bag. King's seizures disappeared. No plastic bowls or storage containers unless certified food safe. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: This rescue I have now Mack. He has seizures. I have to take him back to the vet. This weekend he had six in one morning. Sad! Oh, wanted to ask you if you ever saw the Collie named "Chaser" on TV. She is up in years but I never saw a dog know so many names and commands. If you haven't you should google her. Reminds me of your king. King is better looking though. Oh plus, when I was talking about Ellie. She had all those C sections before I made her our Queen. She was a puppy mill. It was heartbreaking with a great story end. I miss her so. I would never breed dogs. So many think they can. Too much work for me. Plus I would want to keep them all. Nice chatting. |
