I know that if someone hit a dog, for example, he would probably try to find the owner or take it to a vet himself, but a wild duck?  I think if I had hit it and saw that it was dead, I would have probably called who ever it is who collects animal carcasses from the roadways.  I wouldn't have hung around waiting for an owner--or taken it to the Administration Building for the GM.
