How do you know it was a man driving the SUV? You say "gunned his truck", if witnesses saw it was a man then why didn't they get a plate number? What did the man look like? Age?
My point is unless you know for a fact it was a man then don't assume, it could have been just as easily a woman in a hurry to shop! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: One of the reasons this incident became so public and drew so much attention was how it happened. A black SUV was stopped on 589 to turn left into the shopping area where Food Lion is. Martha was leading her flock across the road and when the light changed the person driving the SUV gunned his truck and ran over Martha as she was walking across the road. The driver did not stop. Otherpeople in cars sitting there saw what happened and said this was not an accident and should be reported to police. Martha was so well known as the white goose with the bad wing and leader of the pack and OP residents wanted to honor her by burying her near the pond. Nice to see people respond this way. |
