I never thought they would last for any period of time. Most of that model had reinforcements along the bottom near the doors where they cracked early in their service. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Surprisingly, the last of that model pictured by Jack in '08 is still in operation. Unfortunately the subway cars have not proved as hardy as artificial reefs. Apparently, while they are aluminum sided, the support structures were not and they have collapsed on the ocean bottom. |
