Dave Stevens, Tom Herrick and Jack Collins are all three golfers and have some idea what is required to begin straightening our the golf fiasco.
They know no more than any other three people in the Pines. Your comments are purely political in nature, and carry no weight as a result. No weight. Where was Dave Stevens when he was president five or six years ago. He manipulated the golf advisory group to the point where it was useless and eventually disbanded. I find all this rather silly. OPA runs the place for decades. Many new golf courses open in the area and OPA golf membership goes from 800 to 150 or so. The board votes to hire Casper. Three years or so later the board decides to dump Casper and hire LU. Based on your comments, things were mismanaged when OPA ran it, when Casper ran it and when LU ran it. And your solution is manage the place based on the some go-between panel of golf members. I love this place. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hello Joe, Past history is important, however if prior Boards ignored the GAG's suggestions, what that means is that prior Boards were fools. The proof is in the pudding. Ant time a Board appoints themselves to a task in which they have no knowledge or expertise you have a fool for a client. Dave Stevens, Tom Herrick and Jack Collins are all three golfers and have some idea what is required to begin straightening our the golf fiasco. Yet the arrogant four remaining Board members chose to leave the only Board members having any idea what needs to be done off the go between panel. Back in PG county we called this kind of behavior arrogance or having your head in the sand (actually much worse) but I think you get the idea. A properly empaneled GAG having the ability to sift thru the various suggestions and ideas presented by OP golfers and having the expectation that the Board would take their enlightened suggestions seriously, I think would have a very positive impact on the golf operation in OP land.\ So will the current Board continue to make foolish mistakes following decades of nonsense or will they get smart and appoint Board members with some knowledge of golf and get together a golf advisory Group with some expertise with the expectation they will be listened to?
