| I could (and did) say the same thing about expanding the footprint of the YC. The 60+ age group tends to remember the old days of having dinner and sitting around the bar, talking about the even older good old days. Even military service clubs have combined, officer and enlisted, as the desire and need for them fades. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The writing has been on the wall for golf for some time. Even Jack Nicklaus recognizes the problems. Folks in OPA in the 60+ age group tend to remember the good old days of golf, when membership in a real country club seemed important. Today that is no longer the case with younger people. Of course, the OPA Country Club has not been a real country club for a decade or more. |
