You could be correct. To my knowledge the GM NEVER informed the Board of Directors during his permitting process with the county, or in what should have been early pre-design contacts with the county, that we would not be able to have any tables out on that expansive patio. Of course he unilaterally removed the stone facing from the a signed contract without even informing the board. The list goes on and on.
The guy is amazing. Yesterday he even said his initial idea for the YC was some small building. I certainly never heard that. This thing going on with the tiki doesn't pass the smell test. And I think we are not being given the facts. Putting aside the YC issue, the Tiki seems to have been mishandled. It seems to have been plopped down as an afterthought. I suspect that the GM's zeal to get the YC open on schedule caused concrete or some hard surface to be laid before the requisite pipes, water, beer and maybe sewage were installed to the Tiki. It is a fact that the beer lines weren't in. Now here is what I think, Joe. The GM has decided that the Tiki, as a profit center, is not viable and he wants it drinks only from now on. The logistics of schlepping food the considerable distance from the kitchen results in complaints about it being cold, then it has to be schlepped back to the kitchen, reheated, schlepped again, etc., not to mention the flies that trail the aroma back into the YC decide it's cooler in there and take up permanent residence. As for the food truck, it is a one year and done deal. It is a bandaid, a molifier of public opinion, not even a permanent plan B. After the 2016 summer season it will be announced that due to lack of interest, the Food truck is being discontinued and will be sold. All customers of the Tiki beginning in 2017 will be required to order food inside. This is what the GM refers to as driving customers into the YC. He doesn't want them sitting around the Tiki. He wants them inside the underutilized 5 million dollar building. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I sense some kind of a coverup of a major mistake/blunder. Perhaps a fireable mistake, like the cracked pool coverup. You could be correct.
