The reason is because it will result in a much lower cost for acquiring four dedicated pickleball courts and additional paddleball courts.
Your comment above and the motion at the end of the meeting are nonsensical in the context of an already passed Terry motion to spend $150,000. Why it was made and why it was passed, you'll have to ask others. Terry supported it because he knew it was useless nonsense. I'll chalk it up to a totally out of control board meeting where little was discussed in depth in any organized way. The board had just voted to approve spending $150,000 to create an area for eight new pickleball courts, in addition to the relatively minor cost of moving the playground and some fencing. Your view of this might be worth considering if the motion included only the cost of moving the playground and other relatively minor costs. The big part of the cost in Terry's motion is the storm water mitigation required if OPA builds eight pickleball courts. Please... look at the actual RFP Analysis. I gave you the link. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The passed Herrick motion that came AFTER Terry's motion passed is useless. If the motion is useless why did Herrick, Collins and Stevens vote in favor of the motion? Why did Herrick even make the motion if it was going to be useless? Why did Herrick vote yes to amend his own motion with language provided by Terry? The reason is because it will result in a much lower cost for acquiring four dedicated pickleball courts and additional paddleball courts. |
