Joe,
My comments made at the last Board meeting clearly stated my concerns as to exactly what Terry's motion is set to include. That is the reason I voted against it. It can certainly be construed as the start of Phase 1 of "the master plan" including the allocation of association funds to spent on much more than the renovation of the playground. My original motion was to only address the concerns of providing pickle ball and platform tennis courts. The playground repair should be a separate issue and defined as such. Tom |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Tom, Carol Scott is playing you politically in my view. Your motion to have GM look into using existing facilities has NOTHING to do with Terry's passed motion to spend $150,000 on Phase One of the Manklin Creek master plan. Would you acknowledge, as Marty has, that the $150,000 is no more than Phase One of the master plan and included ALL work from Thompson's $207,000 recommendation except actual construction of four courts, but still provides the site work and storm water mitigation for an eventual eight pickleball courts. What Carol Scott seems totally unwilling to accept is that much of the $150,000 is for site work and storm water mitigation for Phase One of the master plan. If not for a master plan calling for 8 new pickleball courts, then all that needs to be done in that area is repair and maintain the playground for perhaps $10,000. |
