It was a missed opportunity as I believe you pointed out not to box Director Notsowell into a corner when he said he was "so done with pickleballl". If he is then all that is necessary is to rebuild the playground, correct? someone should have been sharp enough seek an understanding of what that meant. He repeated himself at least 5 or 6 times. By the way if the playground is in disrepair after only 10 years that is again a very poor reflection on maintenance ... I know this has been previously stated but an opportunity to potentially point out the conflict in Notsowell's words with his vote was missed. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Here is what you and others are putting forth as pure speculation: That the motion put forth by Mr. Terry is Phase I of the original Manklin Creek Master Plan, which would permit this board or a future board to proceed sometime in the future with the original master plan that has been rejected by this board due to it's outrageous cost. Terry has called it Phase One. The GM has called it Phase One. The RFP Analysis calls it Phase One. The work involves site preparation for eight pickleball courts. That is not speculation. Again, look at the documents provided by the GM. I will agree that it is speculation to say the board will go ahead with the rest of the $750,000 project in the future. It is not speculation to say that the expenditure of $150,000 is not necessary if the $750,000 is never completed. Even Terry references it as a part of the original master plan. Why anyone would stubbornly not agree that the $150,000 is no more than Thompson's Phase One of $207,000 less four pickleball courts (exactly as described by Terry in the video) can only be attributed to politics, not facts. Again, look at the RFP analysis. There is no need to move a playground that has been there for over 10 years if not to make way for and complete Phase One of the $750,000 project, including all necessary site work and stormwater management control for eight future pickleball courts. |
