I did indeed follow how things transpired and you will note that I made no inference that Tom Herrick's motion passed.  See my response to a post from Ed Moran.  I note that there was a mention of a safety issue with the current orientation of the playground, although no details of the issue were stated.  If there is indeed a safety issue, the question I would ask is, would repairs to the equipment and the addition of a fence address the noted safety issues.  Of course, if we took that arguably reasonable and fiscally responsible course of action, the outcome could derail the overall "master plan" and the associated enormous expense that some of the board is intent on doing.

It seems to me, regardless of how well delivered and persuasive Tom Terry presented his argument that it was "about the children", what was passed by the board was phase one of the entire Manklin Creek project.  I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.
