Since Cordwell chose not to elaborate on his "phony, deceitful and just can't tell the truth" comment, I took it to mean, "I really can't see myself serving another six years like Clarke and Stephens have and Collins is running for. So let's blame them." No shame in only serving one term. The shame is in rolling the grenade into the tent as you leave.

One thing I agree with Cordwell on is sitting down with the GM to discuss the operation of OP. But do it with an open mind. After going through the list of successes, ask what his future program is for bridges, preventative maintenance and code enforcement. Ask what he has done in each of these areas since he assumed the office. Compare the two answers for consistency. Mr Cordwell appears to believe the GM deserves high marks in these areas despite the broken pools cover up, broken facilities in the beach club bathrooms and at the country club, run down houses and grounds throughout OPA, etc.

Spend a day with him, tour the complex, judge how he prioritizes his responsibilities. Then make up your own mind. But beware coming to any conclusions that differ from Mr Cordwell's. You might find yourself thrown through his figurative wall.
