Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Cordwell Exit Interview Msg# 950797

Cordwell was dead wrong on his comments about firing GMs over the past 18 years. Maybe that's his alternate universe. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: from cordwell interview: "Cordwell said the majority of the rancor people see during OPA board meetings is caused by “a group of people who think we can just get rid of a general manager or an employee every time they don’t do something a particular person wants.”“They have done this to every general manager in the 18 years I have been a property owner,” he said." I've been here just as long, have been active in board affairs the entire time, and there has never been anything remotely like this current GM situation with any of the GM's during that time (and I've commented on that several times in writing). the four board members who fired olson to be replaced by thompson were not responding to the community, supposedly it was a more of a conflict with four members of the board and gm. and so it probably was with previous GM's, but the point is there has never been this level of dissatisfaction among property owners with a gm in the almost 18 years that I live here. cordwell spoke to me after the last meeting (small talk) and I also dealt with him when he was clubs committee liaison . . . seems to me (as an observer) if he stayed on the board he'd be heading for a stroke/heart attack or the OPA would be heading for a lawsuit. either way, it's a good thing that he decided not to run. steve lind |
