In a land far far away, between an large ocean and a bay, OP Land was in disarray!
Then one day, someone rode in on a white horse, suggested all the rulers step down, lease some of the amenities to private commercial entities, and, bring in a seasoned management team, that, could bring peace back to this trouble land. Since the Yacht Club and it's nearby pool were now under private supervision, the pool was returned to adult only status, and, all the community urchins returned to the other four pools. The new propitiator was now free to return menus to the food choices of the masses and bring in and back employees who had the respect and understanding of the customers. The golf club, under an new operator that knew how to maximize play of the course, and, advertised it properly, started to increase revenues not seen in many years. Harmony was re-established in OP land once again, and, all the evil charisma was driven out, and, the OP Forum, with no bad news to report, closed shop. The End! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Slobodan, you may be interested in some prior posts I've made on the forum regarding closed meetings and what directors can say about what went on in the those meetings. The board had a board info meeting at the Hilton 9/12/2013. From my report on that meeting: "There was also discussion of what the board can do in closed sessions. As Moore clarified for them, if the board votes to go into closed session to discuss Topic A, it cannot then discuss Topic B related to other normal issues. "Also, Moore was asked if there is any prohibition in the HOA Act or the OPA documents against a director telling the public what transpired in the closed session. Moore said there was no such prohibition but the board itself could implement such a policy in a Code of Conduct similar to what a board passed back around 2005, but then eliminated a year or two later. The Code of Conduct then was a disaster politically, and that's why it was dumped rather quickly. Hopefully this board will not decide to go down that treacherous path again." By the way, Marty should be very aware of this position by Joe Moore, as Moore came to it when investigating a charge against Marty for saying what went on in a closed meeting. |
