Every time I have gone before a judge to get approval to engage a firm to do this kind of work, I have to justify the scope and expense involved. More often than not, the judge will indicate that he/she is not going to authorize "a witch hunt". Their words, not mine. And I have to expect pushback from creditors on expense and the debtor on scope. Not a walk in the park and shouldn't be.
