Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Motion to Remove Director Trendic Msg# 988308

Shelly:
I actually have been a strong supporter and friend of Slobodon in the past. I had hoped that if I was elected, and that is a big if, we would work together on issues that we have both supported for years. I would hope that is still the case. Sussex County Delaware has a unique celebration after Election Day where there is a parade and all candidates "bury the hatchet" and go forward in best interest of the constituency. I can do it and I am sure any director with our membership's interest in mind can also. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Marty and thank you. I'm sorry but I have to ask this question...... it apparent the you're not a 'Trendic' fan. Or at least that's my interpretation. I apologize if I am incorrect with this statement but we already have a lot of drama between our elected board members. If you are elected and Slobodon remains on the board, and I think he's going to, it seems that it may continue going forward. Are your reasons of contention personal? Are you going to be able to put aside any ill feelings and work with him? Also, I've stated that I think this motion for removal is ridiculous. Not so much because of the facts or lack of as stated by Hill, but but rather my reasoning is that we are in the middle of an election. We are also anxiously awaiting the announcement of a new GM that is rumored to be coming before the end of the voting date. If personalities are the major issue here it's possible that this can be dissolved in the near future as the dynamics of the board will be changing and Hill will be just another BOD sitting at the table.... why do you think they feel it needs to be handled at this time? And I'd like to add one more observation from my point of view. I watched that video of the last board meeting.... my first in the 12 years I've lived here. What I took from it wasn't that Trednic was obstructing, but more along the lines of him desperately trying to keep things on course of what they, as a board, had discussed and agreed upon in previous meetings. Am I wrong about this? |
