Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Motion to Remove Director Trendic Msg# 991532

Trendic asked for a forensic audit of food and beverage, public works and certain unspecified areas. I thought his request was too close to the time that he discovered an unpaid lien against Hill or his company that was subsequently paid. After all, he went to the board to talk about the lien and then started talking about a forensic audit. (And he still hasn't told me what the unspecified areas are.)
I have no problem with a deep audit of food and beverage. I thought it should have been done years ago and especially when this new board came in. I just question the timing now. As to the losses now? I doubt that an audit will tell you much beyond "no customers". Poor administration, probably. Anything beyond that recently, I doubt it. I ask again, now of you, what period of time will this cover? Personally, I think it should be for at least three years. Have at it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ed, compared to the losses of dollars on operations, the cost of a forensic audit on the Yacht Club is chicken feed. Rather than beat up on Trendic for not having whatever details you want to see in a motion, why not address the core issue of whether or not OPA should seek a special review of what is going on at the YC, and the rest of OPA for that matter. I was glad to here Supik say the auditors were in the process of doing a "deep dive" but not yet complete. She did say, however, that they told her of some areas of concern. Trendic, as with his push about the bridges two years ago, may well be on to something. |
