Tom, the real estate market here in OP has been flat for the past couple of years. People that I know who own property at several Jersey Shore towns have seen prices steadily increase since our economic downturn a few years ago but we have not experienced the same appreciation. I do know that I love Ocean Pines and have found it to be an ideal place as my vacation home...John | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Agent Sharon O'Hare is reported in the paper as saying all this has zero impact on home values or home sales. I believe she also said she lives here and has been a resident for a long time. Of course she wouldn't tell people to run away. What she also won't be saying is how long the average resident stays here. Turnover is very high. People buy and move a few years later. A few of my neighbors have owned less than 3 years and are already selling/sold and moving out of OP. My own house was built in 1994, I'm the 4th or 5th owner. We always hear of families out in town who lived here, but quickly moved out in town and still use OPA amenities because it's only a few bucks more. |
