Mr Clarke,
I agree with your comment. I would assume many of the original property owners invested in OP because of the proximity to Ocean City. Your comment regarding the area being farm land brought back many stories I would hear regarding my family history. I was blessed to have my grandmother live to the age of 93 and she enjoyed telling stories! Honestly I enjoyed listening to them even more. My great grandfather leased a farm which is now south Ocean Pines known as the Bell farm. A son Marvin Phillips lived on the farm harvesting grain and vegetables for several of the old landmark Ocean City hotels. I find it ironic now Colby‘s career intertwines with my families past. |
