Joe, I agree with you. There is no reason our amenities cannot be operated at some minimal profit level. I also agree that the Yacht Club has been mismanaged . The Yacht Club has been so bad, that my children, nieces, and nephews, and guests, don't even want to go there, even when it's my treat. They just want to go elsewhere. It is going to take a lot of work to bring them back. Don't get me wrong I would like to see it succeed, or at least break even. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: correct point of view.. Certainly. The only reason anyone buys here is because of Ocean City, and certainly those visiting owners here are interested in Ocean City. It is a major resort destination. That said, there is no reason our pools, our tennis courts, our golf course, our Yacht Club, etc. cannot be operated at some minimal profit level based on operations alone. Not that many years ago places like Denovos, Southside, etc. did not exist. Had those business owners thought people in Ocean Pines wanted to go only to Ocean City, those businesses would have never started. The problem with the Yacht Club is not Ocean City; the problem with the Yacht Club is OPA management. |
