I bought a '54 Commander in '64 for $60. Not nearly as stylish as the one pictured (and it had some rust), but I drove it about 100 miles per day and always carried a 5-quart can of cheap oil (had to add some oil every time I filled the tank.) I transported me from Arlington through the mixing bowl, through DC, ending up at GSFC in Greenbelt (and back) every day. Then after the pool closed, we'd head out to National Airport to watch the submarine races... | ||||||
